Doing the Complete Job

Today we headed to an apartment in Toorak.  The owner needed a 1950's electric oven replaced.  As with most older wall ovens, they are often larger than modern wall ovens.

Interestingly this wall oven was a Frigidare made by General Motors Holden :).  Once we removed the old oven we decided to replace the Laminex panel with white Melamine particle board rather than using a metal surround to cover the gap on the sides and top.  It was a little more work but the end result was far superior.  Don't you think?

As tradesmen, sometimes you are asked to go beyond what you normally do.  This time we worked for a few hours as cabinet makers and for about 30 minutes as electricians.  From the customers perspective, they had the job done professionally at a lower cost than having multiple trades involved.
